The Vienna Center for Taiwan Studies, Led by Dr. Astrid Lipinsky, has been Named Recipient of the 21st French-Taiwanese Cultural Foundation Award

Nov 30, 2017

The Foundation is pleased to announce that the Vienna Center for Taiwan Studies, under the leadership of Dr. Astrid Lipinsky, has been named as the recipient of the 21st French-Taiwanese Cultural Foundation Award. Formally established in December 2009 in the Department of East Asian Studies/Sinology at the University of Vienna, the Vienna Center for Taiwan Studies has played an active role in organizing research projects and international scholarly exchange, including the “Vienna Taiwan Lecture Series”, which has been supported by a three-year grant from the Foundation. In addition, beginning with its founding, the Center has invited faculty from National Cheng Chi University to offer intensive courses for the Department’s MA students, thereby enabling them to learn about Taiwan in fields such as literature, media studies, and film. In the future, the Center hopes to work with other academic institutions in promoting both academic and cultural exchange between Europe and Taiwan.
