Dr. Yang Zhang Wins American Sociological Association’s 2017 Distinguished Contribution to Scholarship Dissertation Award

The Foundation is pleased to announce that one of its Doctoral Dissertation Fellows for 2014, Dr. Yang Zhang, has been named recipient of the 2017 Distinguished Contribution to Scholarship Dissertation Award, presented by the Section on Collective Behavior and Social Movements of the American Sociological Association, for his thesis entitled “Rebellion Ecology and Insurgent Formation: Qing China 1850-1873”. Dr. Zhang currently serves on the faculty of the School of International Service, American University.
