Academician Hsiao-ti Li, Former Member of the Foundation’s Domestic Region Review Committee, has Passed Away

It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of Academician Hsiao-ti Li, former Domestic Region Review Committee Member of the Foundation and Academician of Academia Sinica, who passed away on August 25, 2026, at the age of 72. Academician Li achieved exceptional accomplishments and produced a prolific body of work in the fields of Ming-Qing history, as well as modern Chinese social and cultural history. His profound scholarship has exerted a far-reaching influence on the global Chinese academic community. While serving as the Foundation’s Committee Member, Academician Li made immense contributions by assisting with academic reviews and organizing the Cross-Strait History and Culture Camps for many years. The entire staff of the Foundation extends our deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathy on the passing of Academician Li.
